gear & kit list

This section provides important details about what you need to pack for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. It includes a list of essential items that you should bring with you, as extra gear can be difficult to find in Tanzania. While guides might help with some equipment, it’s not always a reliable option since their gear might already be in use. The list is also meant to help you ensure you have everything you need.

Before the climb, your gear will be checked during a pre-climb briefing to make sure you are prepared. Sometimes luggage doesn’t arrive on time, but the team will do their best to make sure you’re ready for the climb. You should aim to keep the total weight of your equipment to around 15kg (30lbs) in your porter’s bag, plus an extra 6kg in your day pack. If you plan to bring more, please let the team know in advance.
